Congratulations on Day 18 of Sober Holidays! You've come this far and are on the road to better physical and mental health! Perhaps this would be a good time to check out what 12-step meetings are like. You can find probably a half dozen within a few miles of your home, or there are many online.
Why go to a meeting? Because 12-step meetings aren't just about not drinking. They're about living a healthy sober life. They give you tools that help you stay sober, learn and grow. It's because of meetings that I've had amazing growth - emotionally and spiritually. I've learned more in meetings than I have in 30 years of therapy!
What are the 12-steps? The 12-step program is a set of guiding principles and spiritual concepts that provide a roadmap for recovery from addiction. These meetings are designed to provide support, accountability, and encouragement.
What are meetings like? At the meetings, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences and hear from others who have gone through similar struggles. You will also learn valuable tools and techniques for coping with cravings and triggers, as well as strategies for maintaining your sobriety over the long term.
In addition to the support and guidance provided at the meetings themselves, many 12-step programs also offer resources such as literature, online forums, and mentorship programs to help you continue your growth and recovery outside of the meetings.
Overall, attending 12 step meetings can be a powerful tool in your journey towards sobriety and personal growth. It provides a safe and supportive community to help you stay on track and achieve your goals, and can be an incredibly rewarding experience!
