I recovered my happiness, my purpose, my true self -
I recovered my life!"
Karen Rubinstein
My life's path has been full of twists, turns and very real setbacks such as life long depression, traumas, PTSD, sleep disorders, eating disorders and alcoholism.
Four years ago I hit rock bottom and finally reached out for help. I thought putting down the bottle would be the end of a journey, and yet it was the beginning. Over four years in recovery, I've made amazing discoveries about myself and learned lessons that have changed and transformed my life. I no longer need prescriptions for depression or sleep and am living a life beyond my wildest dreams. I'm truly happy, joyous and free!
Because I suffered needlessly for years, and because I've lost so many friends to this disease, I now dedicate my life to helping women reclaim their happiness and purpose. I also write and speak - recover loudly! - to stop the shame and stigma of addiction/alcoholism and to stop others from dying quietly.

I spent most of my adult life feeling there was another way - but I didn't know what it was or how to get it.
I suffered needlessly - weight issues, anxiety, depression, alcoholism - before I hit rock bottom and rebuilt my life!
I have the experience, tools and skills to help you transform your life!
"The rate at which women are dying from excessive drinking is rising faster than that of men."
- The New York Times
People are often amazed to find out I am an alcoholic, or that I weighed over 200 pounds for a dozen years, or that I suffered from depression or went through traumas. They can't believe it because they say, "You don't LOOK like an alcoholic!"

Alcoholics are not hanging out under bridges and drinking from paper bags - we come in all shapes and colors and all professions from lawyers to doctors, and from teachers to students. And yet, the stigma and sterotype of that image is still prevelant and is keeping many women from getting the help they need.

The shame and fear of my disease kept me in a vicious cycle of increased drinking and self-loathing that almost killed me. Despite the increase in drinking for women in recent years, we are still isolating at home - afraid to let anyone know. I feel your pain and I've been there. I made it through and I know you can too.

It starts with asking for help. Then your true journey begins.

Mission
My mission is to empower individuals struggling with addictions or mental health issues, such as depression or anxiety, by fostering an understanding of how their thoughts and beliefs influence their actions.
Through empowerment and the rediscovery of their true essence, I aim to support individuals on their journey towards healing and self-actualization.
Vision
My vision is to cultivate a society where individuals are equipped with the knowledge and tools to address the root causes of addiction and mental health challenges. By educating the public that drugs and alcohol are not the problem but rather symptoms of underlying traumas and inadequate coping skills, I envision a community where holistic healing and support are accessible to all.
